i hear this and read this a lot, "i don't believe in evolution" or " this person does not believe in evolution".
when we say this we a perpetuating the myth that evolution is a belief, when in reality it is a fact.
we should say " this person does not accept evolution as a fact".

the first question is, if you truly abstain from blood, how can you belong to a religion that allows parts of blood?.

i have never heard of one.. the key word here for me is "minor".......mature or not.......the law would still see them as a minor and couldn't override the parents decision for fear of lawsuits or worse.. like i said............i have never heard of one.

This is especially galling when you go onto par5, which states "Solomon ceased to obey Jehovah's laws and became increasingly oppressive." Are the WTS implying, subtly, that Jesus' rule will be oppressive? This is interesting, as they later mention that Christ has been ruling for nearly 100 years. During that 100 years what has Christ done? Aren't things becoming more oppressive for the typical self-persecuting JW? Aren't things becoming harder? Yet, Christ is ruling as King. This also throws up the conundrum - if the Millennial Reign of Christ lasts 1000 years, then is he 10% into that reign? Is it, in fact, Christ that is responsible for the hardships being experienced by JWs around the globe? He is, afterall, King in heaven...
I haven't read the article but just from what you've written here - could they (WT) be trying another approach? Since the trick to double think is exactly that - a trick. This could be the best one of them all!!!
If there is such a high turnover in memberships - and clearly statistics show that there is - why wouldn't they say that maybe the society™ has had some "leaders" that ceased to obey and have become oppressive. It is just an expansion of the memorized phrase "they are just imperfect men doing their best to serve". Now they can PREDICT their own oppressive behaviour and exercise it too! the "reasoning book" claims that the 1874 edition of the imperial bible dictionary verifies the idea that jesus was crucified on a stake.
however, when you check the reference with the imperial bible dictionary, you see that it acutally is not as clear cut as that.. as usual, the infamous "..." of the watchtower has been used to edit out any opposing ideas in the source that they cite.. i know that this may have been mentioned before, but the scans of the imperial bible dictionary that are floating around the internet are from later editions, hence the page numbers are not those cited in the reasoning book.. .
